At 50 – you are probably just having eyesight changes or a few back problems to make you conscious that things are not staying the same. If you have prominent menopause or male functional issues you will be more acutely aware that things are not staying stable.
At 60+ you may feel that you are losing ground: more medical issues, less strength, reduced flexibility, lots of dental issues, stiff joints. Do you have mental changes like reduced confidence, low mood and uncertainty? These are clear indications it’s time for you to take charge.
Do you dread following the path your parents or older relatives have trodden? In my medical career
I have been saddened by seeing many people who did nothing until it was too late.
My parents

My mother lived for 10 years with significant dementia to the extent that it was as if she had died and just her ghost remained.
